Hermitage of la Magdalena

On the outskirts of the city, the hermitage, which is built in 1734, was named after The Magdalene venerated since the medieval period in the parish of San Bartolomé el Viejo.

Its interior has a single central nave which is divided into five sections by simple pilasters attached to the walls. In addition, it has a lintelled roof and a flat apse. The most remarkable architectural elements are the open niches in the walls.

The facing brick exterior comprised a gable roof. Its doorways are quite simple and lintelled: one of them is situated at the foot of the hermitage, and the other in the gospel nave. There is also a small belfry at the gable end of the church.
